In 1999, the church elected to enter
into a 3 phase building program. The initial phase, a
relocation of the parsonage, was the first to be
completed. Following the relocation of the parsonage,
plans and building began for the second phase: our
current sanctuary, offices, and classrooms. Phase III
was to be a kitchen and dining facility. Over the years,
the Lord has brought many new people to Philippi and our
needs grew. Phase III is to be a 10,300 sq. ft. building
complete with an industrial kitchen with cafeteria style
serving lines, five petitioned-wall classrooms,
fellowship dining for nearly 700, and a complete
audio-visual package with stage. This facility will be
used for family night meals, education, banquets,
seminars, receptions, and a host of other opportunities.
It will be called the Family of Faith Center, or FFC for
short. We thank God for the great things He is doing at
Philippi!
The Phase III team began meeting and praying in the fall
of 2005. Over the past year and a half the Lord brought
us to the facility needs described above. An
architectural firm, Langley & Associates, was secured
and the drawings began. In the days to follow, meetings
were held with various contracting companies, bids were
cast, and in the end, Boulware Construction secured the
job. Where do we grow from here? Well, talks have
already begun over parking and auditorium expansion.
Let’s see what God does!
