NURSERY Sundays during services and as needed (Children aged Birth to 2yrs. old)
 
The Nursery is staffed by loving and dedicated volunteers who attend our Church regularly, and wish to devote their worship time to giving your child a safe, secure, Christian environment to enjoy while you attend the various functions of our Church. Each child is signed in and out by you, so there is no one else who can have access to your child. We believe in giving parents the safety and security of knowing that the best care is being given to their children while attending the various opportunities and programs at our Church.

Our Nursery includes a state of the art paging system that allows the Nursery to page you anywhere on our property should your child need you!

PRESCHOOL BIBLE CLASS Sundays 5:00pm for children 3yrs. to 6yrs. old

Do you remember a favorite story from the Bible that you learned as a Child? Can you recall listening to tales of Jesus walking through the towns and telling people how they could be saved? It was because someone cared enough to start teaching you Biblical Truths at an early age. We believe that no one is too young to learn about what Christ did for the world, and how He died for us. We teach the Bible to our Preschool children and share the Truth of the Gospel. The Bible says we should train a Child up in the way they should walk, and they will return to you. That is the basic principle when it comes to our Children, and the focus of Ministry to our young. “

JTOTS Wednesdays 6:00pm-6:30pm for Preschool aged children 3yrs. to 5yrs. old

JTots or (Jesus Tots) is a music ministry that “Makes a Joyful Noise” for the Lord. This is one of the first steps of worship for our children. They love to express themselves in lots of ways, and they express their love for Jesus Christ and His Word through songs and smiles! On many occasions, they help open our worship services in songs of praise to the King of kings and Lord of lords!

CHILDREN'S CHURCH Sundays 10:30am for children ages 2yrs. to 5yrs.
 
It is often difficult to expect a child at these ages to understand or participate in Adult Worship. We have three separate Children's Church groups that will teach the Word of God to your child in their own fun and exciting environment. There are three divisions of Children's Church, one group for 2yrs. to 3yrs., one group for the 4yr olds, and one group for the 5 yr olds. Your Child will learn how to worship God in Spirit and in Truth, while receiving Bible based teaching and preaching ideal for their age range and attention demands. Children's Church is fun, upbeat, positive, and makes Church a great place to be.

("uh-wan-uh") Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:00pm/ages 3yrs.-12th grade

The AWANA Program was instituted at Philippi in 1992. It is a structured program designed to teach children God’s word in order that they might be saved and have the knowledge to teach others. AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. AWANA consists of three segments: game time, study time, and lesson time.
 

JKIDS Sundays 4:45pm-6:00pm for ages 1st to 6th grades

JKids (Jesus Kids) is the next step in the music ministry for children. We perform two musicals a year: one in the Spring and one at Christmas. These musicals include music, drama and some interpretive movements. Occasionally, we lead congregational worship on Sunday mornings and evenings. We are a high energy, fun packed group that desires to sing praises to our God and have a great time doing it.

JCREW Sundays 4:30pm-5:30pm for ages 7th grade thru College
 
JCrew (Jesus Crew) is the final music ministry for youth. Although there are no auditions, all members must sign a commitment called “The Standard.” The Standard states "that a person must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, attend church services and practices regularly, and live a life off-stage that reflects what he/she acts and sings about on-stage." We perform two musicals per year. Our Spring musical is also performed during our Summer Mission Trip. Our musicals involve drama, singing, and interpretive movements. We perform a Christmas musical as well. Quite often, JCrew leads worship during our Sunday services. We love to share the Gospel in fresh and exciting ways.

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP Sundays 5:30pm-6:00pm for ages 7th grade-College
 
Let's face it, the more time our Youth spend at church, the less time they are elsewhere surrounded by inappropriate influences. Immediately following JCrew, and just before Youth Worship, the Youth have a chance to gather a and spend some time catching up with each other, and socializing. This is beneficial to those Youth not in JCrew to spend time with all the other Youth before the Corporate Worship Service Sunday Night. It's also a good excuse to have fun!

GOD SQUAD PRAISE/WORSHIP TEAM Sundays 3:30pm-4:30pm

YOUTH WORSHIP Sundays 6:00pm for ages 7th grade-College
 
Worship is an important part of a Christian life, and here is where the Youth can worship in spirit and in truth in their own unique atmosphere. This worship service is specifically geared towards living the Christian life, and applying God's word to the struggles and hardships which face the lives of our young people during these impressionable years. The Youth learn the skills necessary to face the World, through the Bible, sharing God's love, and growing in Fellowship with one another.

One of the traditional settings we think of when we think about Church is the Worship Service. At Philippi there is a Service for you, no matter what your schedule. The study of God's word is vital to your relationship with God. Knowing His will for your life, understanding His teachings, and applying those teachings is offered to different age groups in various classes.

Want to go to the next level beyond Sunday School? There are a number of opportunities for adults of all ages to get in depth with God's word. From studies on specific books of the Bible, The World's Religions, to Married or Single Living, Coping with Divorce, and more. You will find a way to delve into the Word of God and make your life more rich and fuller because of it. Find a Discipleship class that is right for you today. There are several to choose from.

"Goin' Fishin" Matthew 4:19 Mondays 6:00pm Youth and Adults

Goin' Fishin' is an organized Ministry that leaves the Church walls and goes face to face with people, witnessing for God based on Matthew 4:19 and Mark 1:17. It is our mission to spread the Good News of Christ to a lost and dying world (Mark 16:15), and each Monday night we do just that. Goin' Fishin' is also utilized to follow-up with those who have visited our Church for the first time, requested a visit, or to make visits to some of our sick, hospitalized, shut-in, and nursing home believers in the community. We also try to visit those who haven't been to Church in a while, or maybe are having a difficulty. In this case, the visit is used to investigate how the Church can help and offer our assistance, support, prayers, and comfort if needed. Goin' Fishin' is a Bible based program that is Administered and led by the Pastors of the Church where we pray, fellowship, go out in teams and share the gospel to those in need, come back and reflect, and grow in the Ministry of leading others to Christ.  If you have ever wanted to experience Ministry, and not just talk about it, Goin' Fishin is for you! BIBLE STUDY/PRAYER MEETING Wednesdays 7:00pm All Adults

This is the Corporate Worship time that is focused on meeting the needs of others, offering prayers for each other, fellowship, and seeing what God's word has in store for our lives as we continually walk with Him.

SANCTUARY CHOIR Sundays 7:15pm-8:30pm All Adults

The sanctuary choir is made up of adults of all ages and abilities. Our number one goal is to lead the Body of Christ in corporate worship and adoration of the Lord Jesus Christ. There are no auditions or requirements, except that a person live a life that exemplifies Christ in their daily walk. We do expect that a person be faithful to our regular Sunday evening rehearsal and those rehearsals planned for big events. They sing a variety of music including Southern Gospel, Contemporary Praise and Worship, and the firmly rooted Hymns of the Faith. They also plan musicals that coincide with the Christian calendar. A member of the choir should also be a person that supports the many other activities of the church including Sunday School, Discipleship, and Outreach. Unless we live the Faith, we cannot sing the Faith!
 

WHISPERS OF FAITH Sundays 4:30pm Adult Ladies
 
Whispers of Faith is a group of ladies who desire to worship through interpretive movement. As one member put it, “I wasn’t blessed with the gift of singing, so this is my offering of worship to the Lord.” They meet for a time of prayer, practice, and fellowship. Each member is strongly encouraged to participate in the other ministries of the church, i.e. Sunday School, morning and evening worship services, and discipleship time in order to cultivate a growing relationship with the Lord. This group’s desire is to glorify God as written in Psalms 115:1, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to Your name be the glory because of Your love and faithfulness."

 
LIFESTYLE SPECIFIC Various
 
Are you single? Married? Want to get involved with a Men's Group? Women's Missionary Union? Ladies Night Out? We have lifestyle specific opportunities and groups who meet monthly, bi annually, and more. They get out, work together, learn, grow, and become an integral chain in the mission to spread the Good News to a lost and dying world. All the while, helping each individual find their unique calling to their life, and helping to build the Kingdom. Ask one of the Pastors how you can become involved with a lifestyle specific ministry today and make some new friends in the process. We're waiting on you to come and join the family.

JNOTES Wednesdays 7:45pm Youth and Adults
 
JNOTES is the name given to our Orchestra made up of people of all ages and abilities. Some of our participants play on a regular basis in the local high school, while others are picking up a horn for the first time in several years. There is currently no audition requirement, but there does need to be some proficiency and skill. We expect orchestra members to be present at our Wednesday night rehearsals, live a life exemplary of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to practice, practice, practice. We play each Sunday morning during the praise/worship portion of our service and will soon be playing during the offertory. We are the “instruments” that help lead the Body of Christ in corporate worship and adoration of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our goal is to play music to accompany our Sanctuary choir. Participants of the orchestra are also those people who support the many other activities of the church.

SENIOR ADULTS

While the above Adult opportunities are open to Adults of all ages, we love our Seniors! They are special people who provide wisdom, guidance, and set an example for all of us to follow. Here are just a couple of special opportunities just for these exceptional members of our community.

JOY stands for Jesus, Others, then Yourself. Fellowship, trips, fun, and more. If you are a Senior Adult, there is a special place waiting for you to become an active and vital part of the Ministry of Philippi Baptist Church, and it's future.
