Graduate Recognition Day
Sunday, May 18
If you are graduating from High School, Tech, or
College and would like to participate in the
service, please call the church office. A meal
will be served following the 2nd service to all
graduates, who have signed up, and their
immediate family members. You MUST sign up by
Sunday, May 11, 2008.

This past Sunday we had two special guest of
honor among us at Philippi. First of all, we
honored our Senior Adults, and they are a group
that deserves recognition.
Some of them represent the greatest generation
our country has ever seen. But I would say that
they represent the greatest group of folks that
a pastor could ever have. Thank you for your
years of faithfulness to the Lord, His Church,
and to my family and me.
Second of all it was an honor to see one of our
soldiers, Sgt. Mickey Belue, home from the war.
If we ever doubt that God hears or answers
prayers just look to one of our men who have
safely returned home after many weeks of
prayers. To God be the glory! Also, thanks to
all those who help provide refreshments and
service to the ceremony on Friday when they
arrived back in Union.
This Sunday we will honor another group of
special people. Do not forget to wish your
mother a Happy Mother’s Day this Sunday. Where
would our country or church be without godly
mothers who do so much, most of which goes
unnoticed or recognized?
May you have a blessed week, and I hope to see
you all on the Lord’s Day.
